Today Dr. B did not assign anyone to blog tonight, so I took it upon myself to go ahead and post what we did today in class. First we took a quiz over different types of reactions, then after we went over the quiz we used the remainder of the class time to discuss our choices for science courses next year. Our choices are AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and Physics. Tomorrow Mr. Whittington, a.k.a. The Godfather, a.k.a. The Don, will be coming into to class to tell us about AP Biology. Have a good night everyone.

thanks justin, today we had a pop quiz and thursday we have a test. I personally find it helpful to just read the chapter making notecards of all the important stuff
ReplyDeleteRemember guys, if you are planning on majoring in any field where science is important. Take ONE AP course next year, and then the remaining TWO as a senior. Have a goodnight guys.
ReplyDeleteDr. B recommended that if you were going to achieve a health related major like for example: chiropractic, dental hygiene, nursing, occupational, therapy, or pharmacy you should take AP. Chemistry while in high school so you would be prepared for college chemistry.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't very prepared for today's quiz, and I found that studying the types of chemical equations is a key part. Make sure you remember that if the product has CO2 then it is a combustion reaction.
ReplyDeleteYes, of course, thanx scheuner. I really liked Dr. B's argument of why we should take AP Chemistry. It is probably what ima choose to take next year.
ReplyDeleteThanx Dr. B for your oh so persuasiveness.

ReplyDeleteand remember its a palindrome day!!!! happy 01/11/10
thanks, Joe for the palindrome day reminider! Remember that you can take regular Physics if you are in regular math, and Honors Physics if you're in, Honors math.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone out there doesn't understand some part of chemistry, look up a video of it on youtube, and search "Bill Nye the Science Guy" with it. I spent an hour watching it while looking stuff up for the blog last week.

ReplyDeleteRemember the math that you take for next year doesn't determine the science you take. You could take regular pre-cal and still take an AP class.
ReplyDeleteEven though you may not be in an Honors or AP math class next year, you can still be in an AP or Honors science course. That takes some pressure off of me lol
ReplyDeleteRemember, if one would like to take Physics next year it heavily relies on math.
ReplyDeleteIf you are more of a math guy, chemistry is probably for you. If you like to focus more on life and the objects in it, then pick biology.
